Caragh See / Caragh Lake

Caragh See wird vom gleichnamigen Fluss durchflossen und ist mit knapp 5 km² der drittgrößte See auf der Iveragh Halbinsel (nach Lough Leane und Lough Currane). Er liegt in einem Natur- und Landschaftsschutzgebiet, das den Killarney Nationalpark, die MacGillycuddy's Reeks und das Einzugsgebiet des Caragh River umfasst. Mehrere Wanderwege führen an seinen Ufern entlang, es gibt aber nur einen öffentlichen Zugang im Nordteil.
Caragh Lake is flown through by the river of the same name and is with almost 5 km² the third largest lake on the Iveragh Peninsula (after Lough Leane and Lough Currane). It lies in a Special Area of Conservation that comprises the Killarney National Park, the MacGillycuddy's Reeks and Caragh River Catchment Area. A few hiking routes pass along the banks of the lake, but there is only one public access in the northern part.
