Ballindooly Turmhaus / Ballindooly Castle

Ballindooley Castle steht direkt an der Hauptstraße N84 nur wenige Kilometer nördlich von Galway und in der Nähe des Ballindooley Sees. Es ist wurde Ende des 15. Jahrhunderts vermutlich von der Familie DeBurgo erbaut. Nachdem die Burg etwa 200 Jahre leer stand, wurde sie in den 1980ern gekauft und ihr früherer Glanz wieder hergestellt (mit einigen notwendigen Anpassungen an das Leben im 21. Jahrhundert).
Ballindooley Castle lies directly beside the main road N84 only a few kilometres north of Galway and near the Lough Ballindooley. It was built most likely by the DeBurgo family at the end of the 15th century. After being abandoned for around 200 years, the castle was bought in the 1980s and restored to its former grandeur (with a few necessary adaptations to life in the 21st century).
