Lough Hyne

An diesem Tag treffen wir uns mit Elisabeths Brieffreunden - sie versprechen uns zum schönsten Platz der Erde zu führen. Es ist der Lough Hyne (Loch Oighinn), südlich von Skibbereen (An Sciobairín - kleiner Bootshafen). Ein Waldpfad führt uns zum Gipfel eines Hügels, von wo aus wir einen fantastischen Blick auf den See und die Umgebung haben. Ob es wirklich der schönste Platz der Welt ist, darüber lässt sich streiten (wir kommen noch an andere Orte, die das von sich behaupten) - aber er ist definitiv in der engeren Auswahl.

On this day we meet Elisabeth's pen pals - they promise to take us to the most beautiful place of the world. It is Lough Hyne (Loch Oighinn), south of Skibbereen (An Sciobairín - little boat harbour). A wood path leads us to the peak of a hill, where we have a fantastic view of the lake and the surrounding landscape. Whether this is really the most beautiful place of the world is open to discussion (we go to other places that lay claim to that title) - but it is definitely on the short list.
