In den 1970er errichtete die Bank of Ireland (Banc na hÉireann) ein neues riesiges Hauptquartier in der Baggot Street. Die moderne Stahl- und Glasfassade steht in starkem Kontrast zu den Georgianischen Häusern der Umgebung und war schon bei seinem Bau heftig umstritten, wobei sich häuptsächlich Architekten unter den Befürwortern fanden. Anfang der 2010 wurde dann das Hauptquartier in die Mespil Road verlegt.
In the 1970s the Bank of Ireland (Banc na hÉireann) built a new large headquarter in Baggot Street. The steel and glass façade shows a sharp contrast to the Georgian houses of the surroundings and has been fiercely disputed since its construction, in which mainly architects were found among the proponents. At the beginning of the 2010s the headquarter was moved to Mespil Road.
