Vom Hafen von Glengarriff (Gleann Garbh - raues Tal) aus fahren Boote auf Garinish Island, und so nächtigen wir 2015 zwei Mal in dieser Stadt. Im Mai nutzen wir die Zeit nach dem Einchecken in Hotel und vor dem Nachtmahl zu einem kleinen Spaziergang durch die Stadt. Wir sehen viele Geschäfte, Hotels, B&Bs und Lokale, aber relativ wenige Menschen. Kein Wunder, die Hauptsaison in diesem, einem der ältesten Urlaubsorte Irlands hat noch nicht begonnen.

From the harbour of Glengarriff (Gleann Garbh - rough glen) the boats leave to Garinish Island, and so in 2015 we stay overnight twice in this town. In May we use the time between checking-in in the hotel and supper for a little stroll trough the town. We see many shops, hotels, B&Bs and bars, however only few people. No wonder, the main season in this, one of the oldest holiday destinations of Ireland has not yet begun.
