Portrush

Portrush (Port Rois - Hafen am Sporn) war ein kleines Fischerdorf, bis in der Mitte des 19. Jahrhunderts die Eisenbahn kam und mit der Eisenbahn die Touristen. Der Ort wurde schnell zum beliebten Seebad. Auch wenn die Glanzzeiten schon vorüber sind, gibt es immer noch Vergnügungsparks und Spielhallen, die bis spät in die Nacht belebt sind.

Wir nehmen uns lieber tagsüber die Broschüre mit der Beschreibung des Kulturerbepfades, dem wir durch die Stadt folgen.

Portrush (Port Rois - port of the promontory) was a little fishing village until the railway came in the middle of the 19th century and with the railway came the tourists. The village soon became a favoured seaside resort. And although the heydays have gone by, there are still amusement parks and gamble halls bustling until late in the night.

We however prefer to take one of the booklets with the description of the heritage trail and follow it throughout the town.
