Fluss Slaney, Enniscorthy Bruecke / River Slaney, Enniscorthy Bridge

Der Fluss Slaney wird in Enniscorthy von einer Eisenbahn- und zwei Straßenbrücken überquert. Die ältere Straßenbrücke wurde Ende des 17. Jahrhunderts erbaut und 1837 verbreitert. Sie wurde zu Ehren von William Barker, der die Brücke während der Rebellion von 1798 verteidigte, um die Briten am Überqueren der Slaney zu hindern, in "William Barker Brücke" umbenannt.
In Enniscorthy the River Slaney is crossed by one railway and two road bridges. The older road bridge was constructed at the end of the 17th century and widened in 1837. To honour William Barker, who defended the bridge during the rebellion of 1798, so that the British could not cross the Slaney, it was renamed to "William Barker Bridge".
