Marktplatz, Kreisverwaltung / Market Square, County Council

Der Marktplatz wird vom ehemaligen Markthaus dominiert. Es wurde im späten 18. Jahrhundert erbaut und diente während der Rebellion 1798 als Gefängnis. Seit 2014 ist im Gebäude eine Zweigstelle der Landkreisverwaltung von Wexford untergebracht. Eine Status am Platz erinnert an die Aufstände von 1798 und zeigt (in idealisierter Form) Pater John Murphy und einen jungen Rebellen.

Market Square is dominated by the former Market House. It was built in the late 18th century and was used as gaol during the rebellion in 1798. Since 2014 a branch of the Wexford County Council is housed in it. A statue on the square remembers the insurgency of 1798 and displays (in idealised form) Father John Murphy and a young rebel.
