Lady's Island

Lady's Island (Oileán Mhuire) ist eine Insel im Lady's Island Lake (Loch Tóchair), einem Brackwassersee, der nur durch einen dünnen Sandstreifen vom Meer getrennt ist. Die Insel ist seit Jahrhunderten durch einen Damm mit dem Festland verbunden. Am Nordende des Sees gibt es eine kleine Ortschaft, die ebenfalls Lady's Island heißt. Ihr Mittelpunkt ist die Kirche zur Himmelfahrt, die in in den 1860ern errichtet wurde.
Lady's Island (Oileán Mhuire) is a small island within Lady's Island Lake (Loch Tóchair), a brackish water lake that is only separated from the sea by a small strip of sand. The island has been connected to the main land with a causeway since many centuries. On the northern end of the lake there is a small village that is also named Lady's Island. Its centre is the Church of the Assumption that was erected in the 1860s.
