Im Tal der Avoca wurde den 1720ern bis in die 1980er Kupfer abgebaut. Für die Bergleute wurde konfessionsübergreifend ein Kreuz aufgestellt: Als Hoffnung für jene, die wieder an Tage zurückkehrten; zur Erinnerung an jene, die unter Tag blieben.
In the valley of the Avoca copper was mined from the 1720s until the 1980s. For the miners a cross for all confessions was erected: As hope for those who made it back to daylight; as a reminder of those who stayed underground.
