Meeting of the Waters

Die Wicklow Berge sind vor allem auf der Ostseite von vielen grünen Tälern durchzogen. Das berühmteste ist Glendalough, aber auch andere haben Dichter und Poeten inspiriert. Wie die Vereinigung der beiden Flüsse Avonmor (An Abhainn Mhór - die große Avon) und Avonbeg (An Abhainn Bheag - die kleine Avon) (zwischen Rathdrum (Ráth Droma) und Avoca (Abhoca)), die Thomas Moore (1779 - 1852) in seinem berühmten Gedicht "The Meeting of the Waters" (Die Begegnung der Gewässer) beschrieb.
Many green valleys run through the east side of the Wicklow Mountains. The most famous among them is Glendalough, but others have inspired writers and poets, too. Like the confluence of the rivers Avonmor (An Abhainn Mhór - the big Avon) and Avonbeg (An Abhainn Bheag - the little Avon) (between Rathdrum (Ráth Droma) and Avoca (Abhoca)), which was featured by Thomas Moore (1779-1852) in his famous poem "The Meeting of the Waters".
