Die Stadt Bray (Bré - Hügel) war nur ein kleines Dorf, bis am Ende des 18. Jahrhunderts die Dubliner Mittelklasse Bray für sich entdeckte. Mit der neuen Eisenbahnstrecke, die 1854 hier eröffnet wurde, wuchs Bray zu einem beliebten Badeort und ist es bis heute geblieben.
The town of Bray (Bré - hill) was just a small village until the end of the 18th century when the middle-class of Dublin discovered the place. With the opening of the new railroad in 1854 Bray became a favourite seaside resort and remained that till today.
