Joseph Ronald "Ronnie" Drew (Ránall Ó Draoi) (1934 - 2008) war ein Irish Folk Sänger und Musiker. Er wurde in Dún Laoghaire geboren. 1962 gründete er mit Luke Kelly, Barney McKenna und Ciarán Bourke die Band The Dubliners, erste Auftritte hatten sie in O'Donoghue's Pub in Dublin und wurden in den folgenden Jahren zur weltweit bekanntesten Irish Folk Band.. Das Markenzeichen von Drew war seine tiefe, rauhe Stimme. Von 1974 bis 1979 und nach 1995 verlies Drew die Band und verfolgte eine Solokarriere.

Als Folge seines starken Tabakkonsums erkrankte Drew an Kehlkopfkrebs, an dem er auch verstarb. Sein Grab liegt auf dem Friedhof von Redford, einem Vorort von Greystones, wo wir für ihn eine Kerze anzünden (gehe vom Tor aus bergab in die untere Sektion, auf der linken Seite, die Vorderseite schaut zum Meer). Auf seinem Grabstein steht:

Oíche mhaith, codladh sámh
(Gute Nacht, schlafe friedlich)

Joseph Ronald "Ronnie" Drew (Ránall Ó Draoi) (1934 - 2008) was an Irish Folk singer and musician. He was born in Dún Laoghaire. In 1962 he founded together with Luke Kelly, Barney McKenna and Ciarán Bourke the band The Dubliners, their first performances they had in O'Donoghue's Pub in Dublin and in the years to follow became the best known Irish Folk band all over the world. The trademark of Drew was his deep, rough voice. From 1974 to 1979 and after 1995 Drew left the group to pursue his solo carrier.

As a result of his heavy consume of tobacco Drew contracted throat cancer, of which he died. His grave is on the cemetary of Redford, a suburb of Greystones, where we light a candle for him (from the gate go down to the lower section, on the left side, the front side is faced towards the sea). The inscript of his gravestone reads:
