Als wir durch die Gassen schlendern, kommen wir zu Seans Bar. Es behauptet das älteste Pub von Irland zu sein und verweist sogar auf einen Eintrag im Guinness Buch der Rekorde. Eine Suche im Internet ergibt aber, dass nur Teile des Hauses aus dem 9. Jahrhundert stammen, das Pub ist bei weitem nicht so alt. Es gibt sogar Gerüchte, nach denen nicht einmal das Haus so alt ist und dass es nur ein Schwindel war, auf den das Guinness Buch hereingefallen ist.

(Der Titel gehört nach aktuellem Wissenstand dem Brazen Head in Dublin.)

While roaming through the alleys, we come to Seans Bar. It claims to be the oldest pub in Ireland and refers to an entry in the Guinness Book of Records. A search in the Internet however brings up that only parts of the house come from the 9^th century, the pub itself is not nearly as old. There are even rumours that not even the house is thus old and it was only a hoax for which the Guinness Book fell.
