Kirche zum Hl. Declan / St. Declan's Church

(2015-05-28)

St. Declan's Church was built under bishop Meolettrim O Duibh-rathra at the end of the 12th century. The most unusual features of the church are the Romanesque sculptures on the exterior of the west wall. The smaller arcades of the upper and the two larger arcades of the lower row are much worn, but individual figures can still be made out (Archangel Michael, Adam and Eve, the Adoration of the Magi).
