Wasserfaelle / Waterfalls

Da die Berge in Irland nicht so hoch sind wie die in Österreich, sind auch die Wasserfälle nicht so hoch. Der Powerscourt Wasserfall mit 121 Metern hat weniger als ein Drittel der Höhe der Krimmler Wasserfälle (380 m) (die aber zugegebenermaßen auch nur etwas mehr als ein Drittel des Salto Ángel (979 m) hoch sind).

Allerdings ist der Powerscourt Wasserfall gar nicht der höchste in Irland, so wie auf der offiziellen Webseite von Powerscourt behauptet wird. In der Wikipedia und in der World Waterfall Database wird der Sruth in Aghaidh an Aird (Strom gegen die Höhe) auch bekannt als The Devil's Chimney (der Teufelskamin) mit 150 m als höchster Wasserfall Irlands aufgelistet. Aber beide Quellen sagen nichts über den Mare's Tail Wasserfall am Hungry Hill (Cnoc Daod) in der Grafschaft Cork, der ebenfalls als höchster von Irland genannt wird. Wie z. B. als #22 der "25 Fakten" der Beara Tourismus Seite. Ich finde im Netz nur eine Webseite, die seine Höhe mit 200 m angibt.

As the mountains in Ireland are not as high as in Austria, the waterfalls are not as high, too. Powerscourt Waterfall with 121 metres has less than a third of the height of the Krimmler Wasserfälle (380 m) (which admittedly are also only a little more then a third of the Salto Ángel (979 m) in height).

However Powerscourt Waterfall is not the highest one in Ireland at all, even though that is claimed on the official webpage of Powerscourt. In the Wikipedia and in the World Waterfall Database the Sruth in Aghaidh an Aird (stream against the height) a.k.a. The Devil’s Chimney with 150 m is listed as the highest one in Ireland. But both sources say nothing about the Mare's Tail Waterfall on Hungry Hill (Cnoc Daod) in County Cork, which is also said to be the hightest one. Like is it done as #22 of the "25 facts" of the Beara Tourism page. I only find one webpage in the 'net stating its height with over 200 metres.
