Fluss Erne / River Erne
Der Fluss Erne (Abhainn na hÉirne) verbindet die Republik Irland mit Nordirland. Er entspringt in den Slieve Glah Mountains, durchfließt Lough Gowna, Lough Oughter, Upper Lough Erne und Lower Lough Erne, bis er nach 129 Kilometern bei Ballyshannon in den Atlantischen Ozean mündet.
Der Erne ist über die Shannon-Erne-Wasserstraße mit dem Shannon verbunden.
The River Erne (Abhainn na hÉirne) connects the Republic Ireland with Northern Ireland. It rises in the Slieve Glah Mountains, flows through Lough Gowna, Lough Oughter, Upper Lough Erne and Lower Lough Erne, until after 129 kilometres it ends in the Atlantic Ocean at Ballyshannon.
The Erne is connected to the Shannon by the Shannon-Erne-Waterway.
