Klippen / Cliffs

Wenn die Wörter "Irland" und "Klippen" in einem Satz vorkommen, ist meist auch das Wort "Moher" dabei. Und obwohl die Klippen von Moher mit über 8 Kilometern Länge sehr beeindruckend sind, sind sie mit bis etwa 200 Metern Höhe bei weitem nicht die höchsten Klippen Irlands. Die Goldmedaille geht an Croaghaun (Cruachán), einem Berg auf Achill Island, der mit 688 Meter auch noch die europäische Bronzemedaille bekommt (laut Wikipedia). Wer allerdings die anstrengengende Wanderung nicht unternehmen möchte oder kann, sollte die Slieve Leagues besuchen. Sie sind zwar "nur" 595 Meter hoch, aber dafür ist es möglich mit dem Auto bis fast zum Aussichtspunkt zu fahren.

Der dritte Platz dürfte an die Kerry Klippen mit 305 Metern Höhe gehen, zumindest habe ich keine anderen Informationen im Netz gefunden.
