Lecarrow
Dolmen / Megalithic Tomb

Am Rand der Ortschaft Lecarrow im Townland Knockanyconor stehen die Überreste eines alten Portalgrabs. Der Dolmen ist imposant groß (der Deckstein hat einen Durchmesser von ist bis zu 3 Metern), befindet sich aber leider auf Privatgrund. Zumindest ist er von einer Seitenstraße der N61 aus gut sichtbar. Im 19. Jahrhundert soll eine arme Frau in dem Grab gelebt haben, um ihr Kind groß zu ziehen. Der Dolmen ist seither als "Nellies Stein" bekannt.
Direkt neben dem Dolmen befindet sich eine Steinkiste (Cist), in der ebenfalls Bestattungen stattfanden. Laut Infotafel gibt es auf dem Gelände auch noch Überreste von Steinmauern und konzentrische Kreise, die vermutlich in Verbindung zur alten Grabanlage stehen. Erkennen können wir aber bestenfalls ein paar Steine auf dem Feld.
At the border of the village Lecarrow in the Townland Knockanyconor there are the remains of a portal tomb. The dolmen is impressively large (the caps stone has a diameter of up to 3 metres), but lies alas on private grounds. At least it can be seen quite good from a sideroad of the N61. In the 19th century a poor women is said to have raised her child within the grave that is since also known as "Nellie's Rock".
Directly beside the dolmen there is a cist that also was used for burials. According to the info panel there are also the remains of stonewalls and concentric circles on the site that are connected to the graves. However we can at best spot some rocks on the field.
