Es gibt zwei Schleusen des Grand Canals in Tullamore, Nr. 27 und Nr. 28. Nr. 27 gleicht einen Pegelunterschied von 2,5 Metern aus
Obwohl der Abschnitt des Grand Canals von Tullamore bis Shannon Harbour 1804 eröffnet wurde, wurde die Cox Brücke erst 1809 gebaut, als die Straße nach Clara verbessert wurde. Die Brücke ist nach der Familie Cox benannt, die in der Nähe Grundstücke besaß, ist aber auch unter dem Namen "Clara Brücke" bekannt. Im späten 20. Jahrhundert wurde die Brücke auf beiden Seiten um Fußwege verbreitert. (Siehe OFIAR-017-015 im Offaly Brücken Dokument)
There are two locks of the Grand Canal in Tullamore, No. 27 and No. 28. No. 27 compensates for a level difference of 2.5 metres.
Although the section of the Grand Canal from Tullamore to Shannon Harbour was opened in 1804, Cox's Bridge was only built in 1809 when the road to Clara was improved. The bridge is named after the family Cox, who owned land nearby, but is also known as "Clara Bridge". In the late 20th century the bridge was broadened by footpaths on both sides.
