Rathlackan Hofgrab / Rathlackan Court Tomb

Trotz der sehr genauen Karte und den sehr genauen Anweisungen die wir bekommen haben ist der Weg zum Hofgrab von Rathlackan ein Abenteuer für sich. Leichter wäre es vermutlich gewesen, wir wären vom Ostern her gekommen: Südlich von Rathlackan und nördlich von Castletown ist eine Vierwegekreuzung. Hier dem Weg nach Westen folgen. Nach wenigen Kilometern gibt es einen einspurigen Weg nach Norden, der direkt zum Grab führt. Dafür ist das Grab selbst beeindruckend. Es ist eines der größten, die wir bisher gesehen haben. Elisabeth ist begeistert und fotografiert jeden einzelnen Stein.
In spite of the very precise map and the very precise instructions that we got the way to the court tomb of Rathlackan is an adventure on its own. Most likely it would have been easier had we come from the east: South of Rathlackan and north of Castletown there is a four-way-crossing. Follow the road to the west. After a few kilometres there is a single-track way to the north that leads directly to the tomb. Nevertheless the tomb itself is impressive. It is one of the largest we have seen so far. Elisabeth is enthusiastic and photographs every single stone.
