Strade Kloster / Strade Friary

Das Kloster in Strade (An tSráid) wurde einst von Franziskanern geführt, aber Mitte des 13. Jahrhunderts von Jordan de Exeter an die Dominikaner übertragen. Mitte des 15. Jahrhunderts wurde das Kloster renoviert, nur der Altarraum der alten Abtei wurde dabei unverändert übernommen. Ein Bericht aus der Mitte des 16. Jahrhunderts führt es bereits als eines der nicht mehr verwendeten Klöstern auf.
The friary in Strade (An tSráid) was once led by the Franciscan order, but was transferred to the Dominican order in the middle of the 13th century by Jordan de Exeter. In the middle of the 15th century the friary was renovated, only the chancel was taken over without changes. A report from the middle of the 16th century lists it already as one of the abandoned friaries.
