Barnatra

Die Ortschaft Barnatra sind ein paar verstreute Häuser am Ende eines Meeresarms - eine Wohltat für jeden lärm-gequälten Großstädter.

Bei unserem ersten Besuch 1994 ist es der westlichste Punkt von Mayo, den wir besuchen, bevor wir nach Süden abbiegen. Es ist auch die erste von vielen Bucht an der Westküste Irlands, die wir sehen, und der erste Blick auf den Atlantischen Ozean. 2015 bleiben wir um der alten Zeiten willen wieder stehen und finden die Gegend fast unverändert vor.

The village of Barnatra is nothing more than a few scattered houses at the end of a sound, but a blessing for every noise-pestered city dweller.

It is the most western point of Mayo we visit in 1994, before we turn to the south. And it is also the first of many bays we see on the western coast of Ireland and our first view of the Atlantic Ocean. In 2015 we make a stop for old times sake and find the area almost unchanged.
