Dowth

Dowth hat zwei Gänge, die in sein Inneres führen. Beide sind aber durch Gitter versperrt. Zumindest die Kamera kann in die Gänge hineinschauen. Der längere Gang (oben) führt 8 Meter hinein und öffnet sich zu einer drei Meter hohen Kammer. Das andere Grab (unten) ist nur 3,3 Meter lang und ist auf die untergehende Sonne zur Wintersonnwende ausgerichtet.
Tausende Jahre nach der Erbauung von Dowth wurde noch ein Souterrain hinzugefügt, das mit beiden Gänge verbunden ist. Es wurde vermutlich zum Speichern von Lebensmitteln oder als Versteck benutzt.
Dowth has two passages that lead into its inside. Both are however blocked by grids. At least the camera can have a look into the passages. The longer passage (top) goes 8 metres into the cairn and opens to a chamber with 3 metres in height. The other passage (bottom) is only 3,3 metres long and is aligned to the setting sun during the winter solstice.
Thousands of years after the construction of Dowth, a souterrain was added that is connected to both passages. It was most likely used to store food or as a hiding place.
