Bernard Noël "Banjo Barney" McKenna (Ránall Ó Draoi) (1939 - 2012) was an Irish Folk musician and singer. He was born in Donnycarney, Dublin. In 1962 he founded together with Luke Kelly, Ciarán Bourke and Ronnie Drew the band The Dubliners, their first performances they had in O'Donoghue's Pub in Dublin and in the years to follow became the best known Irish Folk band all over the world. McKenna was especially well known and loved for playing his banjo. His fellow band members tell to this day funny stories about the unique way Barney was thinking (the so called "Barneyismus").

McKenna died unexpectedly in his house in Howth. His grave is on the St. Loman Cemetary in Trim, where we light a candle for him (enter through the left gate, follow the path to the T-crossing, turn to the right into the direction of the central cross, take the first footpath to the left, on the right hand side of the footpath, in the second row).
