Talbot und Nangle Herrenhaus / Talbot and Nangle Castle

Am Anfang des 15. Jahrhundert wurde ein Teil der St. Mary's Abbey von John Talbot, damaliger Vizekönig von Irland, in ein Herrenhaus umgewandelt, das "Talbot Castle" genannt wurde und noch heute bewohnt wird. Zu den vielen Besitzern des Hauses zählten auch Jonathan Swift und seine Geliebte Esther 'Stella' Johnson.

Daneben stehen die Überreste von Nagle Castle, das in 15. Jahrhundert datiert wird. Weitere Informationen gibt es dazu nicht, außer einer Abhandlung über das mittelalterliche Trim von Michael Potterton von der Universität in Maynooth.

At the beginning of the 15^th century a part of St. Mary's Abbey was converted to a mansion by the then Vice-King of Ireland, John Talbot, which is named "Talbot Castle". Among the many owners of the hose there were also Jonathan Swift and his beloved Esther 'Stella' Johnson.

On its side stand the remains of Nagle Castle that is dated to the 15^th century. There are no more informations about it available, except a paper written by Michael Potterton from the university in Maynooth.
