Der Spanish Arch (Spanischer Bogen) war früher ein Stadttor und ist ein Rest der Ende des 16. Jahrhunderts erbauten Stadtmauer und der Bastion, die die Schiffe der meist spanischen Kaufleute vor Plünderungen schützen sollte.
Daneben widmet sich das Galway City Museum der Geschichte der Stadt.
The Spanish Arc was a city gate and belongs to the remains of the city walls, built in the 16th century, and the bastion that protected the ships of mostly Spanish merchants from pillagers.
Beside it the Galway City Museum is devoted to the history of the city.
