McSwyne Bucht / McSwyne's Bay
Zwischen Bruckless (an Bhroclais, Dachsbau) und Dunkineely (Dún Cionnaola, Kinealys Festung) führt eine Straße nach Süden direkt zum Castle Point. Von dort haben wir einen großartigen Ausblick über die McSwyne Bucht (Bá Mhic Suibhne). Die Ruinen am Ufer sind die Überreste von Rahan Castle, manchmal auch McSwyne’s Castle oder Castle Murray genannt. Es war die Festung des Clans Sweeney (Suibhne), der sich im 14. Jahrhundert hier niederließ.
Between Bruckless (an Bhroclais, badger's den) and Dunkineely (Dún Cionnaola, Kinealy's fort) a road leads south directly to Castle Point. From there we have a great view over the McSwyne's Bay (Bá Mhic Suibhne). The ruins on the shore are the remains of Rahan Castle, sometimes also called McSwyne’s Castle or Castle Murray. It was the stronghold of the Clan Sweeney (Suibhne) that settled here in the 14th century.
