Dubhlinn Gardens

(2015-05-26)

On the place of today's Dubhlinn Garden, it is supposed that once there was the "dark pool" (dubh linn) fed by the Poddle River, from which Dublin derives its name. Here we stop for the midday break during our guided city tour - but we just cannot sit by idly. Because around the circular centre piece we find works of art, a memorial for the Special Olympics of 2003 (with the names of all participants), the old Coach House (in the background) and the Chester Beatty Library which displays precious scripts from the Near and Far East (the flagged building on the right side).
