Cú Chulainn Statue

Im Inneren des Postamtes steht eine Statue des mythischen Helden Cú Chulainn (Hund des Culanns). Er ist einer der beiden großen Helden der irischen Legenden (der andere ist Finn McCool). Über Cú Chulainn habe ich schon einiges gelesen, von der Statue erfahre ich aus dem Buch "Die Asche meiner Mutter" von Frank McCourt und wollte sie seither sehen. Sie steht zwar direkt neben dem Fenster, aber die Scheibe spiegelt so sehr, dass von außen kein Foto möglich ist.
Jahre später finde ich in einem Geschäft in Navan eine Nachbildung der Statue. Ist zwar nicht das Original, gibt aber einen guten Eindruck, wie die Statue von vorne aussieht.
Cú Chulainn soll in Dundalk geboren worden sein, seinen Tod fand er im Kampf nahe Knockbridge.
Inside the post office stands a statue of the mythical hero Cú Chulainn (hound of Culann). He is one of the two great heroes of Irish legends (the other one is Finn McCool). I have read some stories about Cú Chulainn, and learned of the statue from the book "Angela' Ashes" by Frank McCourt, and had wanted to see it since then. Although it stands directly beside the window, the glass is mirroring so much that no photo is possible from the outside.
Years later I find a replica of the statue in a shop in Navan. Though it is not the original, it gives a good impression how the statue looks from the front.
Cú Chulainn is said to have been born in Dundalk, he found his death during a battle close to Knockbridge.
