Das Old Parliament House wurde von Edward Pearce Anfang des 18. Jahrhunderts als erstes der großen klassizistischen Gebäude in Dublin und als erstes Zwei-Kammern-Parlamentsgebäude weltweit erbaut. Hier befand sich bis zum in Kraft treten des "Act of Union" (Vereinigungsgesetz, 1800) der Sitz des irischen Parlaments. Seit 1804 ist in dem Gebäude die Bank of Ireland untergebracht.
The Old Parliament House was built by Edward Pearce at the beginning of the 18th century as the first of the great classical buildings of Dublin and the first two-chamber Parliament House worldwide. Here was the seat of the Irish Parliament until the "Act of Union" (1800) became law. Since 1804 the Bank of Ireland is located in the building.
